Internationals living with cancer at De Eik
Living with Cancer, how does one do that?
A cancer diagnosis can change your entire life. ‘De Eik’ provides a safe space for people in Eindhoven (and surrounding area) who are living with, in relation to someone with cancer; by supporting you psychosocially and providing directional support. A main goal is to improve quality of life. We help you learn how to do so, you are not alone!
A good quality of life
You, or a loved one may have cancer. However, you are not cancer, you are not your diagnosis. That being said, after a diagnosis, it can feel like this is what life becomes about. De Eik helps place the emphasis on you and your quality of life; not the illness.
De Eik lends people a helping hand when it comes to dealing with cancer. We aim to be a space where cancer temporarily fades into the background. De Eik focusses on meeting, realisation, vitality and informative learning on how to live with cancer. No medical care is provided, but we provide all other (essential) support.
You’re welcome at De Eik
Whether you are a cancer patient or not, you’re welcome at De Eik to learn how to live with cancer. Besides a relax chat, a cup of coffee or a good conversation, ‘De Eik’ organises lots of activities. Check out our agenda online, or choose a category that appeals to you:

Meetup for internationals
English-speaking social gathering in the Brainport region for Internationals who are dealing with cancer.
A cancer diagnosis can disrupt your entire life. De Eik is a drop-in centre for those living with and after cancer and provides them a safe space by offering social and psychological support.
We organize activities (creative and sportive), support groups and social gatherings.
De Eik is a meeting place for those who understand what you’re going through and can help you find what you need at this moment in your life. Sharing your burden or sorrow with others who listen and understand can lighten your load.
Join the meet-up and discover that you’re not alone in your journey. Maybe you’ll be able to forget about your cancer for a while and see things with new perspectives.
If you can’t attend on one off the planned data, you’re very welcome to drop in for coffee or tea and chat with guests and volunteers during opening hours. For a one-on-one conversation, please contact us via our contact form or by phone.
If you’re looking for a chance to connect with others who understand what you’re going through, please register.
After registration, one of our volunteers will contact you to get to know you. And to explain the structure of the meetings.
